The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, measuring about 370 feet at its widest point. This naturally occurring colorful wonder, located in the great State of Wyoming, is steadily heated by an underground volcanic system, bringing the water temperature to 160 degrees. At these temperatures many species of heat-loving bacteria, called thermophiles, form microbial mats around the spring creating the spectacular colors.
Our original keepsake ornament is made of 2mm matte-finished stainless steel, measures 2.5-inches wide and is strung with a faux suede cord. The translucent color is applied on the surface of the stainless steel. "Yellowstone National Park" is cut through the steel.
